Low quality. Not worth it to buy. Collapses with not much difficulty. It will not keep your window closed.

My daughter has an apartment in NYC with two windows, one has a fire escape. This security bar adjusts very easily and, when in place, the windows cannot be opened from the outside. They are simple to remove from the inside, in case of an emergency, if she does need to get to the fire escape. They are not unsightly at all.
I ordered two bars and one was defective. I called and clarified the problem, and I promptly received a replacement, no extra charge; exceptional consumer service.
I certainly recommend this product for extra security.
