For children ages 2 to 6 who are too young for oral thermometers, this underarm model works accurately to surrounded by +/– 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit. The unique ComfortDisc design comprises two round flat disks twisted at an angle to each other, one with a partial metal loop that snuggles under the arm in what’s known as the hotspot, and one that features an on/off button and the simple-to-read LCD show. After four to five minutes the thermometer beeps, signaling that the temperature reading is completed. In order to track the course of a fever, the memory recall gathering lets you compare the child’s current temperature with the before reading. Waterproof, the thermometer cleans with soap and water or rubbing alcohol, while soft fiddle with-grips on the sides place forward a reliable grip. Compact and lightweight with an included battery, the ComfortDisc measures 3-3/4 by 1-1/2 inches. –Ann Bieri

My oldest is 8 and my youngest is 5. I have owned one of these for a very long time. I always did rectal while infants, tried the ear ones really despised them. I found this one day and it has been my favorite house gadget ever. Not sure what happened to all the people with the negative reviews, but this has been on the money when compared to taking to our doctors. I just place the metal piece in the hot spot under the arm, hold them while it is reading and beep all done. I misplaced my initially one and really just picked up another today and it says 30 second readings, and yes it was that quick and so was my older one. Anytime temperature is taken under the arm you are held to add a degree anyways. The disc design is perfect and doesn’t bother the kids while holding their arm down. I just like this thing and vastly recommend it, simple on the kids and super quick readings.

The thermometer beeps quickly, but it’s not really done. If I keep hitting the button it finally reaches a more accurate temperature. My son’s fever has been up to 102 but this thermometer will go up to 99 and beep, then after three or more rounds it will finally top out near what my forehead thermometer says. The initially beep does come quickly, but it is NOT right.

I don’t really know how this compares speed-wise, but it is soooo simple to use: just pop it under the arm and cuddle! My son doesn’t mind it at all (he is 2 years ancient now), and I would be lost without it.
I was given two different ear thermometers, and I can NEVER get them to work. Especially when I needed them. Other thermometers under the arm will poke kids, and I couldn’t imagine using a rectal thermometer every time I suspect he has a temperature.
I’ve been buying it for my friends whenever possible, though it is kind-of hard to find. I’m glad I found it now, because I have two baby showers coming up!

I LOVE this thermometer. I have five children, and don’t have to worry about sterilizing the thermometer between uses. It’s so much simpler to get a temperature while hugging and rocking a sick baby than with a rectal thermomter!
Tnis is my favorite baby gift, too. Even if the family has other children, they don’t have THIS!

I am a daycare provider and I could tell one my the kids was sick. I took her temp it showed 101 I knew that could not have been aptly, she felt much hotter. Her mom came surrounded by 5 minutes and took her straight to the dr. Her temp was 105!!! It was WAY off! I tried to also use it on my own kids and it does not read accurately either. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
