Trojan Brand Latex Condoms, when used properly, are vastly effective against pregnancy – although no contraceptive can guarantee 100% effectiveness. Any use of Trojan Brand Latex Condoms for other than vaginal intercourse can increase the the makings of hurt to the condom. Trojan Brand Latex Condoms, when used properly, may help reduce the risk of catching or spreading many sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia infections, genital herpes, and AIDS; but, they cannot eliminate the risk.
This product combines a latex condom and a spermicidal lubricant. The spermicide Nonoxynol-9 reduces the number of active sperm thereby decreasing the risk of pregnancy if erection is lost before withdrawal and some semen spill outside the condom. But, the extent to which the risk is decreased has not been established. This condom should not be used as a substitute for the combined use of vaginal spermicide and a condom.
