I compared the thermometer with other digital thermometers to be certain, and confirmed that this thermometer does not work properly, it is really inaccurate.

I bought this hoping it would be useful for taking human temp but it is completely worthless. Measures 95.5 when the self has a 101 temp. 94.8 when temp is normal. Tried on several individuals, switched batteries, calibrated, etc.
Only accurate temp is room temp measures 69.4 in a room where the thermostat reads 69 and a ordinary thermometer reads 70.
Do not waste your money.

I just took this out of the box.
At least on my unit, the battery compartment cover could not be opened by hand alone. I had to get a small screwdriver to pry it off. The “push” the button method wouldn’t release it.
Once the battery cover was off and the supplied batteries were installed, the unit was up and working.
Now I am left to wonder if the thing is accurate. I checked my mother in law’s forehead and it read 96.9. That seems too low. I will run tests on the unit over the next several days. If I don’t feel it is telling me the accurate temperature, the thing will either go in the garbage or back to the store for a refund.

This Thermometer gives us a temperature of 86, when the baby is healthy and well. Normal temperature should be 98.7. We’ve tested this on ourselves too and yet it fails to give us the accurate number.

although it is hard to take a baby’s temp no matter how you go about it, this thermometer also has it’s own issues. The red dots need to line up before you can get a temp, meanwhile, you baby is squirming as usual, or like mine, becomes very interested in the dot and wants to grab the thermometer! I still prefer this to other thermometers, but not for the amount of money it cost (although Amazon has the best price on it!)
