As the other review stated- there are no instructions in the “instructions manual”. Now given, there are only a few buttons which are pretty self-explanatory. But, there are 2 de-mineralization pieces that come with it, and I have no thought what to do with them.

I was excited to get an ultrasonic humidifier and this one looked fantastic in the store (I really bought it at Bed, Bath & Beyond). We filled the tanks and used it one night. That one night was ok, but there didn’t seem to be a difference between the low setting and the high setting. The same amount of mist came out whether it was on low or high. The following night, we went to turn it on and it didn’t work! It seemed to have shorted out or something. There was still water left the in the tanks- it just wouldn’t turn back on! Also, the instruction manual left out 4 pages and we couldn’t figure out how to set it up without these. Thankfully, I found the gone pages I needed online. DO NOT BUY THIS!

Mist burbles upward out of the device for a foot or so but the cold heavy moist air immediately tumbles back down and soaks the floor around the base of the device, with no moisture really permeating the room air. This device is not capable of humidifying a room apart from maybe by pooling water on the floor.

I sure wish I had read the other review before buy. Let’s hope mine (also bought from BB&B)continues to work. So far, I’m not thrilled. There are two grey cartridges included with a mark saying not to throw these out and “refer to the instruction manual for fine points.” That’s a joke. There ARE no instructions in the instruction manual. There are 3 1/2 pages of “DO NOT..;” page 6 is a line drawing of the machine (no marks, just a drawing); and page 7 “How to Use” has another paragraph of “DO NOT,” a diagram, and 4 sentences that tell you there is a power button, mist adjustment setting, and a night light. Whoopee. No mention of the cartridges. I don’t know how long these demineralization cartridges are held to last. Also, the tanks do not have a flat surface at the top so you have to hold the tanks as they fill. Annoying.
I bought this because I believed Sharper Image to have fine products. Guess that’s ancient information. Perhaps, I should have stuck with the cheapie models from K-mart, Walgreen’s or Target.

Thing worked for about 12 hours. I saw a puddle of water under the thing and water was in succession down our dresser. I opened the thing up to see that it had shorted the sonic vibrator out. We are lucky that it only blew itself out and didnt cause any more hurt other than to our dresser.
Be careful with this product or simply pass it up and get something else.
