I checked the product
does not work
It does not ruin the needles
I had to do it so many times to get the positioning aptly
then too it failed to completely ruin the needle
I tried contacting the company making it
seems it is closed down. No wonder .
I recommend not to buy this product even if it seems low-cost
It is a waste

I have had one of these units in my home for nearly 3 years now. I have had a few minor tribulations with it but none of them were hard to come up with simple solutions like removing the insert and cleaning it. I have ruined well over 1000 needles and more lancets than I can count and it is still going strong. I never unplug it from the wall charger, so the battery may be getting weak, but I expect that to happen eventually. With two young children in the house, it’s nice not to need to worry about used sharps.
As for the company being out of business, I don’t believe it is. It just appears to have changed hands.

I read other reviews of this product where the reviewers obviously were expecting the device to transport the total syringe somewhere. This device basically “Arc Welds” the needle off, leave-taking a stub (usually with a tiny ball of metal) at the end of the syringe. I have had this device for about a year now and it has never failed. I have noticed that when the battery needs charging, the stub of the needles isn’t as small, but that’s just a cue to plug it in over night.
Overall, this is a fantastic small gadget. No more buying and throwing out sharps containers, it’s GREAT!
