This disolving bandage was recommended to me by a wound specialist physician to heal a recurrent skin-fold wound that wouldn’t close. It is so expensive– about $18 per pad. After a daily bath, the patient cuts the pad into a small sliver that just covers the wound, and then puts a gauze or a soft absorbant bandandage over it. The Prisma disolves over a 24-hour period, and my wounds usually close after 4-7 days if I catch them aptly away. Each wound causes me to go through about one pad, and the doctor says it is not to be used preventatively. The product continues to do its majic each time I get the wound. It is not a prescription item, so my insurance doesn’t cover it. My bendable spending account covers it.
