I ordered these because the orthotics I was using wore out and the company apparently went out of business, so I was searching for a replacement. I ordered these on the strength of the reviews. To be honest, they did what they are held to do, they support my feet well. But, they are REALLY huge. I wear a size 8. These are marked size 8-8.5. They take up so much room that I couldn’t wear them in a single pair of shoes I own (remember, I was already using orthotics in these shoes.) The package suggested cutting them to fit if they are too huge. I cut a tiny amount off the toe and that helped abstractedly but they were still way too wide. I bought a new pair of shoes, in wide, and the orthotics were still too huge. I cut off about 1/16 of an inch off the side hoping to get them to fit in the new shoes. Too terrible I’m not a cobbler. The cut was apparently in the incorrect place. The Powerstep Peak orthotics still don’t fit well and now the side of my toe gets irritated by the edge I cut off. I’m not spending another thirty dollars to try again.

I have very flat feet – have had ever since I was a teen – and over the years, have collected a variety of orthotics – mostly off the shelf, some custom. Names like Scholl (custom & off the shelf), SuperFeet, WalkFit, Sole Chains (custom), etc.
Metal, fabric/foam/fake, leather/cork, you name it — hard, soft, in between. To make my flat feet even more problematic, and possibly as a result, I had achilles tendonitis a few years ago, with the result that my left foot gets tender and tires easily, and sometimes swells, when stressed due to walking with the “incorrect” support.
My chiropractor has been recommending new more computer-designed custom ones (Foot Levelers at about $250) – so for less than $30, I chose to try these before investing another bundle.
SuperFeet were too low, and the custom Sole Chains and WalkFit a small too high for my left foot. Result: pain in walking after a mile or so, as my left forefoot would be converted into stressed and my total foot might even swell up.
It seems to be hard for manufacturers to get the arch support just aptly, but for me, these guys seem to have it. Not too low, not too high, just aptly.
I’ve had the Powerstep Pinnacles for a few weeks now, and they are remarkably comfortable to walk on (nice soft cushioning). In particular they seem to have the arch support at just the aptly level, such that it neither overstresses the foot from below nor lets it sag. In dress shoes, I can see using the 3/4 length version or the less-cushioned version (non-Peak “Powerstep”).
If you have foot pain due to arch issues, I would definately give these a $30 whirl. Also recommend you look at [...] which is very informative.

I was looking for some insoles that were both cushioned and have a rigid orthotic. I’ve tried `Insoles Spenco Walk/Run M10-11 W11-12 For walking in succession or jogging * Special heel strike cushion, Sorbothane Unisex SorboElite Insole, and Superfeet® Active Insoles and for my in succession shoes they just don’t provide enough cushioning, with the exception of the Spencos which provide a lot of cushioning, but no support for the arch. For my regular work shoes the Superfeet Blue are just fine, but with the high impact of in succession they’re just not absorbing enough impact.
After going for a three mile run with the Peak PowerStep insoles and my Mizuno Wave Inspire 4 Cushion In succession Shoe Mens (which I got fitted for at FleetFeet in San Francisco) my plantar fasciitis is completely gone! I am now training for two half marathons later this year.

I’ve been using Powerstep Insoles for many years. I initially gave them a try when I was experiencing morning heel pain, and had been to the doctor and was looking at much more expensive treatments. These things have taken care of my foot tribulations. Worth every penny.

I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis for over 4 months now, primarily due to improper shoes used for before a live audience tennis…so initially off wear excellent shoes!! I have used numerous products;
1. HTP Heel Seat – Very sad…not recommended, don’t go by their reviews (probably on paper by their own people) provided small to no relief…awaiting the refund!!
2. Superfeet (blue one – low volume) – This was recommended by my podiatrist, but did not help either, should have probably used high volume (green one). Frankly, I was in fantastic pain when I used persons and should have taken cortizone shot to help my inflammation.
3. Then Powerstep Pinnale Inserts – These are excellent and provide fantastic support, but reason for 4 stars is because they cannot be molded. They are very thick (high volume) but not stiff (you place them on floor and press with two fingers on the arch part, if they go down easily..not firm enough!!) I did have to cut front toe part as my toes brushed against underside of shoes. So if you are looking for a low-cost (dollar wise) and excellent product, this one helps.
4. SOLE Signature EV Ultra – The best out there IMO. Can be heat molded for a customized fit, although I have not tried it yet. They will adjust after wearing a few times. They are more expensive but worth it. Especially for tennis, these have been a blessing. But, you have to continue stretching your calf and iced pot massage – this is a must irrespective of which insert you use. I am going to buy the Signature DK Response for in succession. They have abstractedly lesser cushioning which is OK for long distance in succession (priced the same though!!) Lastly, also recommend the SOLE Platinum sandals (I sound like a SOLE sale’s man…lol) but their products are worth it…
and finally, take it simple with plantar fasciitis – resting is very much essential and get into you routine gradually…VERY VERY IMPORTANT … or else you are back to square one, speaking from experience..Cheers..!!
