I’ve been a caregiver for my mother with MS for 6 years. She’s faced with diminishing capability to stand and transfer. I’ve bought three other commodes including the costly ‘lift’ commode and the Lumex commode just arrived today. I absolutely LOVE this commode. It’s the lightest commode I’ve ever seen (even lighter than mom’s ordinary walker). The padded seat and back support is not found on any other commode I can find. The open area in the front AND the back are very helpful for adjusting incontinence pads and underwear. And this goes into the shower! You can’t believe the bang for your buck. My 77 year ancient mom fell on her tail bone. She was extremely hard to please about what she sat on. She also couldn’t walk. Thankfulness to this shower seat I could sit her in the shower and wash her. This boosted her self esteem alot. If I had to leave to work for 4 hours I would place the commode pail bottom this shower seat. Then I’d leave the seat by her bed where she could reach it without walking. She never used the commode option but it gave me serious peace of mind since she could never have made it to the bathroom on her own.
