My daughter was on Miralax for over a year, until I realized it was doing more harm than excellent. Miralax is polyethylene glycol, or PEG. You may find it by other names, but it will still be just as terrible for you…please educate yourself before using this drug. Initially of all, Miralax regularly burns on the way out (we plotting this was diaper rash at initially — it wasn’t–people who drink Miralax for colonoscopies regularly get the same symptoms). Second, it is not approved by the FDA for use in children (for whom it is regularly prescribed). Third, it may be causing neurological tribulations in some people who take it. Fourth, there are surpass options that don’t entail risking your shape. Fifth, it does stop working after a while.
If you are thinking of taking Miralax, do yourself a favor and go see a chiropractor, herbalist or naturopath initially.

This product didn’t work for me at all. I was very disappointed. I also found it later in the store pharmacy for about half what I paid for here.

I’VE USED THIS PRODUCT BEFORE AND ORDERED IT BECAUSE I’VE ALWAYS BEEN SATISFIED WITH IT. HOWEVER, AND AMAZON MUST PAY ATTENTION TO THIS, THE EXPIRATION DATE IS ONLY 3 MONTHS AWAY. THE ONE I BUY AT MY LOCAL MARKET ALWAYS HAS AN EXPIRATION DATE OF A YEAR OR MORE AWAY. THIS ASSUMES, CORRECTLY, THAT THE CUSTOMER MIGHT NOT BEGIN USING IT IMMEDIATELY. THIS ALSO INDICATES THAT THE SELLER HAD THIS ON THEIR SHELF FOR ABOUT A YEAR. I WILL NEVER ORDER DRUGS THROUGH AMAZON AGAIN. NOW I WILL HAVE TO PUT ASIDE MY STORE-BOUGHT MIRA-LAX AND BEGIN USING THIS IMMEDIATELY. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED.

For years I used the drugstore brand of Metamucil for a fiber additive. Metamucil has been around a long time and works like a charm once you determine the particular dose that is best for you. (Which may turn out to be as much as 3 times a day). Many folks avoid the powdered bulk laxatives for they are rather stark, and also thicken nearly immediately after adding water, making it tough for some people to get down. Fortunately I never had the problem. Even so I tried using various tablet forms of bulk laxatives for I didn’t like the bloating that the powdered form tends to cause. That I did have a problem with. Unfortunately I never had any luck with any of the tablet brands I tried. Even doubling up on the doses didn’t work as excellent as the powder. So I returned to the bulk form for surpass consequences but was still miserable with the accompanying bloating. I started coming across Miralax ads and noticed its hefty rating on Amazon so I chose to buy some locally here and give it a try. Miralax quite simply has proven to be for me the consummate answer to a problem most of us seem to have on occasion, (or chronically), but are not all that crazy about discussing socially. Its consistency is that of a fine free flowing powder like salt or sugar, and disparate Metamucil it mixes instantly in any liquid. Use a one cap full dose in water and it turns cloudy, but no matter what beverage you choose to mix it in, its taste remains undetectable. It has barely a light scent, and absolutely no flavor at all. A single dose a day should have you up and singing “Oh what a gorgeous morning” the very next day, and every one thereafter for as long as you use it. Miralax will cost you a small more than a store brand Metamucil will, but for persons that like the convenience and lack of bloating side effects will reckon it well worth it. Its one of persons products that goes on sale a lot and can easily be picked up at some local drugstore, or here on Amazon, for less than the ordinary price. One last thing, like all meds labled as laxatives, they advise you on the mark not to use it for more than 7 days. Most people I know that like Miralax have been using it daily for months, even years. Not only that, the majority of them have the welcome sanction of their doctor in doing so, (including me). Miralax basically has the same type of natural ingredients that are found in bulk fiber supplements like Metamucil and Citrocel, only they are much more refined. Thus the small higher cost, and far surpass consequences and convenience in my opinion. I vastly recommend Miralax for all persons that suffer the unmentionable problem of constipation either sporadically, or chronically. I feel it is the very best on the market for the problem…

My doctor place me on iron supplements and they made me constipated, nothing worked until I tried this product, which provides complete relief from the side effects of the iron pills.
I like Miralax and agree with the other reviews apart from for one point–it will not dissolve well at all in protein drinks, and if you add Miralax to the water initially, then the protein powder won’t dissolve, it just sort of clumps up. As long as you mix the Miralax with drinks not containing protein, it works wonderfully.
