Why do the consumer reviews for this product sound so canned? Are they real?

I was very disappointed with the performance of this splint. It has severe design shortcomings. I have moderate Carpel Tunnel that is controlled by night-time braces/splints. This product looked appealing because it is soft and thus suitable for sleeping. After even just a few nights of use, it actully made my Carpel Tunnel much worse. I would wake up in the morning with considerable pain that lasted throughout the day. I had to go back to using my ancient splints and now wake up pain free. This is a terrible product that should be removed from the market. It is incomprehensibe that the company really sells a product that worsens wrist tribulations.

This item is way too bulky – I did not like it at all, and, unfortunately, the company won’t accept any income or exchanges on these type of items. I found a much surpass item for about $20 at the drugstore – the brand/name is called: “Futuro Night Relief Wrist Stabilizer”. I like it much, much surpass than this one, and, my pain at night is gone when wearing it.

This splint is comfortable to wear, and has improved my wrist pain. I work on a computer 8 hours a day, so I do still have some wrist discomfort, but this product has certainly improved it. It’s not simple to get on by yourself, so you’ll want some help. Although you don’t have a lot of use of your hand after you place this on, it’s intended for sleeping in, and you do have basic use. My fiddle with tips come out of the end, and your thumb is free, but don’t expect to do anything that requires full use of your hand. The material is soft and comfortable, and after washing it regularly (every 1-2 weeks) for a few months now it shows no hurt or anything.
I would recommend this for anyone looking for a new or alternative wrist splint.

This is the best splint I have worn so far, and I have tried at least four others. It certainly beats the one from the doc. I have carpal tunnel and trigger fingers and thumb. This splint is very adjustable – I tighten it in some places but leave gaps in others. It is soft and does not dig into my hand like the ones with metal in the palm do. The fake stays are on the back, but still preclude you from moving your hand down. I do not have to wear separate wrist and fiddle with splints. I have long fingers and they still stick out enough to turn pages or use my iPod – but not bend at the joints that need splinting.
I have been wearing this about 4 months now, and am ordering another for my left hand which has similar tribulations although not as severe. The splint is holding up fantastic and I wear it every night. I seem to adjust it about once a month, but then I just slip it on and off. I do wear the Isotoner arthritis gloves under it as well.
I am not sure how this could ever be too tight (as one reviewer noted) if you adjust it to your liking. I did have a similar problem at one point, but was able to adjust it to be loose enough over the wrist and still tight further up the arm and at the fingers. This is hard to clarify without a picture, but I will try. I tighten it at my fingers and further up the arm initially, then only press the velcro as needed a few places in between – you end up with a bumpier version, but it works fantastic.
The only complaint I have is that is is a bit bulky – but that is also why it is more comfortable. As I said – the best yet!
