I bought this for a very small bedroom where I keep a variety of rodents as pets, hoping to reduce dust and pet odors. Even on the buck setting, without the ionizer, the room smelled distinctly of ozone, which is dreadful for human lungs and even worse for the tiny lungs of my pets. Ozone also smells worse, in my opinion, than the smells I was trying to get rid of. If you leave it on all day in the size of room they recommend, even on the buck setting, your room will smell like nasty ozone chemicals. Read up on ozone and the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze lawsuits before you buy this; I wish I had. The filter collected some dust, but I would have to change the filter daily in order to reduce the extent of my dust problem. The noise isn’t too terrible on the buck setting, but anything higher and I would have to turn it off if I wanted to talk on the phone. Unless you can afford one of the super expensive air purifiers without the ozone problem, you’re surpass off with fresh air and scented candles. Save your money and open a window!

I reckon this is a fine machine for the size. Perhaps it is intended for a small office or something. I place it in my living room, so I reckon I was expecting too much. I stopped using it only because the air filter needed replacing and I haven’t found a replacement yet. So, keep your space in mind–that’s probably the most vital thing. I’m sure I would have figured that out earlier if I had read all the literature.

I’ve had this air filter for over 3 years and run it non stop. The only reason i like it is because it is a excellent noise maker to drown out night time noise like my clock and computer that used to keep me up. It’s an ok unit but it is alittle noisy during the day and it gets louder as the filter get covered with dust. It is so loud when i watch tv at night i have to blast my tv volume and it keep everyone up on the same floor as me. I can’t really tell a difference in the air quality but the colorless filter sure does be converted into grey pretty quick it doesnt always fit fantastic in the small cut out and dust leaks around the filter and through the fans and leaves dust streaks on the wall. Buying filters for it is a pain i despise having to go to menards just to get a freakin air filter. They are only 12-15 dollars but i am going to upgrade to a permanent filter air purifier. If you want a nighttime noise maker this is a fantastic unit and i would give it 5 stars for quality because i have ran it non stop for roughly 26,000 hours. to loud during the day though…

So far this air purifier seems to work fine but not as well as one I bought 15 years ago. I also am sure it was not new but a return since the box was all taped together and the fake cover over the carbon filter was already removed. I expect surpass from Amazon and the companies they do business with.

Air purifier is not silent but I didn’t expect it to be. I really like colorless noise. Seems to keep room free of some of the stronger per odors that were around before. Doesn’t seem to collect as much dust/dander as before Honeywell purifier I owned, but is adequate and I have no complaints.
