I’m not giving this 5 stars because of the price It will only be worth the money if this last for many years.
I wanted some of my independence back and After getting chewed out by my nurse for letting a total pot of insulin get ruined for having it in my purse during the summer, I knew I had to do something to protect my shape.
The syringe case will hold a preloaded syringe so you can leave the insulin pot safe in the fridge at home, I got this size so if I take longer trips I can keep a pot in there along with one syringe or two syrines. This keeps me from having to constantly worry about how long an ice pack will last or if the ice pack is too cold, and water is simpler to find than ice esp if your a camper, backpacker, fisherman.
The cooling wallet is only cool enough for already opened insulin and is not made to store unopened bottles that should be in a fridge.
The concept of the Frio is so simple, and MUST have ventilation to work, but they have invented a way to keep most of the dampness off of all in my purse or a loose pocket, as well when activated its “padding” protects the insulin.
These wallets skimp on material to the point that it’s a tight fit, so make sure you get a size that will work for you or a size larger.
My wallet didn’t come with the syringe case that is shown in the picture, instead it came with a golden-haired syringe case which disappointed me because I ordered an extra YELLOW syringe case for my other medicine and didn’t want to get them mixed up, when I called The Insulin Case Shop about it 1-877-829-8024, they where very nice and helpful explaining that they need to change the picture and that they are the ones donation the syringe case with the Frio and offered to send the case in the picture, so If you’re an air head like me (brain injury) and it’s extremely vital that you have different or even same color syringe case for your different medicines, you might want to call them, or just order one of each color.
Frio wallet is hideous as heck, so don’t reckon you’ll be making a fashion proclamation with it, its not something you would want to place into a delicate purse because it’s just hideous, but, with it being black makes it inconspicuous and for men I’m sure they appreciate that there aren’t any pretty flowers and ribbons on it. I don’t take any points off for it’s ugliness because the wallet is about shape and practicality.
I don’t know if I’d buy another Frio because of it’s price, but I would buy another cooling wallet made from another manufacture, it would be nice to have an extra one or two, But I would/will continue to shop with The Insulin Case Shop.
