I bought these to try to supplement my fiber intake without having to deal with powders and pills. Over the last few years I’ve found that increasing my fiber intake is a fantastic way of losing weight and maintaining it, so I try to get around 30g a day. Foods high in fiber fill you up more quickly and aid in digestion, The Daily Recommended Value of fiber for adults is 25g per day. Most people in America probably get much less than that, closer to 7-10g a day. At 9g of fiber per serving, just eating one of these bars a day will provide a lot of help in meeting the DRV.
In addition to the fiber content, the bars really taste fantastic. I’ve never been a fan of granola-type bars, and figured with a name like “Fiber One” these would taste like cardboard, but they are one of the best meal bars I’ve eaten. They are moist and have a excellent texture. All of the ingredients seem fresh.
At 4.5g, these bars are very low in saturated stout (they contain poly and monounsaturated fats – the “excellent fats). Total net carbohydrates is 19G (28g-9g of fiber), so they do contain a small more sugar than I would like (it is the third largest ingredient). Here is the dietetic info:
Calories – 150
Stout – 4.5g (2g saturated)
Carbs – 28g
Fiber – 9g
Protein – 3g
Do not be fooled into thinking these are shape bars. They are basically “cookie bars” with fiber added to them. While they are not the worst thing you can eat, they surely aren’t the best. I reckon these bars could be made to be more dietetic, but that would probably sacrifice taste a lot. If you can get fiber through a healthier source such as Kashi GOLEAN Cereal, 14.1-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (13g of fiber per serving), I certainly recommend that instead.

Most shape bars taste dreadful. Fiber One Bars Oats & Chocolate is not terrible at all. A small chewy, but it does not crumble when you bite it while other snack bars shatters to hundreds of pieces of crumbs. This one you can delight in even if you are in front of your computer keyboard.
I like the Fiber One Granola Bars Oats & Caramel surpass as the chocolate tends to be a small bit too sweet. Also kinda small for my satisfaction.

I tried these bars recently and I was pleasantly bowled over at how filling they are. I shy away from granola bars because they simply leave me wanting more, these really full my appetite and are fantastic for regularity. Who knew fiber could also be juicy? Also for the size of the bar you get for only 140 calories, I’m hooked.

They are really excellent tasting, a real chocolate taste, and they have helped regulate my bathroom routine with the fiber content.

This is a fantastic tasting granola bar, and loaded with fiber to boot! If you are on the Weight Watchers program you will like this bar for a mid-morning snack, it only counts for 2 points! You can’t find a more filling, tastey snack for that amount of points. Delight in!
