Recommend to take temperatures. Works very well and as advertised: east-to-use and appears accurate. Replaced a before model of the same thermometer.

I am speechless. After reading a lot of positive reviews and buying this thermometer, neither myself nor my spouse have been able to get a excellent reading. We both are educated people and have read the manual several times, tried to follow all the steps. One would reckon it should not be hard to take the temperature reading. Each reading was different and never showed the aptly temperature for either my spouse or me! Tried to use it on a healthy baby….but he kept moving so I could not even hold the thing next to his forehead!!!
I can’t imagine using it on a sick baby who probably has no patience and really cranky. I am shopping now for a thermometer that really is simple to use

It is impracticable to get a temperature reading from either of my children, ages 1 and 3, because they won’t hold still. Also, even on me or my husband, two readings, taken back to back, can vary as much as 1 degree. Why even bother? I bought a Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer – IRT4520, which you place in the ear like the nurse does at the Pediatrician’s office, and I like it. It is worth the extra $25 to be sure you are getting an accurate reading.

Our family tried another thermometer that used the temporal artery to measure temperature. It was not accurate at all. We took it back and bought this one and have been very pleased. We get varied measurements with each reading but it only varies by a few tenths of a degree, not enough to be significant as far as we are concerned. It is very simple for our kids and in fact they like to take their temperature on their own sometimes. It only takes a second or two to take your temperature. Quick, simple, basically accurate — a fantastic product!
