The pad is soft but it closes the opening on the toliet to much. It is not simple to clean and stains easily.

I bought this toilet riser for my mother who lives in Helped Living. Mom had a hip replacement giving her a metal hip. Sitting on the toilet hurts. Though the family home has nicely padded toilet seats, it was not enough. This seemed the perfect solution but it is worse.
This padded seat does not work because it slips. When she sits on it either the padding spreads outside of the regular toilet seat or to the inside. Mom’s caretakers tried the seat and had the same issue. This seat should be a donut shape. The opening at the front allows its shape to change when depressed.
The item, though it does not work cannot be returned because of the hygenic nature of it.

My mother suffered a stroke and has vex keeping her balance when trying to sit down on the toilet. The regular hard fake risers make the seat too high for my tiny mother. I plotting this sounded like the perfect solution for her situation. But, the seat flattens out much in the front and consequently does not provide the height expected. Also, with the front flattened, it makes her feel pushed forward and unbalanced.

There were two reasons why I bought this: It promised 4″ of elevation, and the price was comparatively modest.
If what is mainly needed is cush for your tush, this may be just the thing. My reason for buying this, but, was to get both padding AND height, with height being the primary (but not only) significance. A hard seat would not be acceptable for the self I bought this for. This 4″ thick toilet riser compresses to about 2″ when sat upon by a self weighing 170 pounds. Given that the purpose was to replace one which gives 6″ of elevation, it is completely unsatisfactory. I suspect that all of the risers that resemble this one are likely to have the same problem.
That’s not the only disadvantage, from my perspective. The center cavity isn’t very huge. This toilet riser attaches to the original toilet seat with four sets of Velcro fasteners. When some water in a bucket was poured through it, there were water drops on all four Velcro fasteners. The significance is that it needs to be removed for every other use besides that by the self needing the riser. The Velcro straps seem to be very long, and should probably be carefully trimmed to the exact length needed for your toilet.
In fairness, there is another plus besides providing lots of padding for a tender, sensitive rear end. The manufacturer claims it can be cleaned with any household cleaner, even though the upholstery fabric is said to be vinyl. The reason why I’m having to replace the ancient riser is a hard-headed cleaning woman who insisted on using regular bathroom cleaners on the seat – until the vinyl started to crack.
