This tub help bar provides a very reliable attachment to the tub to make it safe to really use (as opposed to the ones that attach to the wall with a vacuum seal and then fall off when you use them). The tightener is simple enough to use. It is simple to clean.

I bought this because my mom was staying with me while recovering from an illness. It gets the job done and is established enough if you just need to steady yourself while entering or exiting the tub. But, it was really hard to install and I would never recommend it for anyone who needs to place all their weight on it. Additionally, despite following the directions, the glue pads removed some of the end from my tub.

I bought one of these to make my bathroom more accessible for my disabled mother. It was simple to install and then remove after she had left. Mom seemed quite pleased with its performance. I did have to re-adjust it a couple of times during the week to make sure that it was still securely fastened to the tub — it may slip out of alignment a bit each day, so keep an eye on it and make sure it’s firmly seated on the edge of the tub and that the knob is tightened well. Since I only paid $13 for it a few weeks ago, I got more than my money’s worth. I see the price has risen since then. I did notice that there are a number of alternative brands and designs for comes off bathtub grab bars, so do some searching and compare prices and features before buying any particular model.
