I had been dealing with an annoying case of poison ivy and finally sought relief with Cortizone 10 Intensive Healing formula. My skin is irregularly sensitive so I tested a spot in the late afternoon and things seemed to be okay. At bedtime I applied it to each of the areas that were giving me vex (forearm and sides). I awoke in the early morning with a nasty case of hives, swelling and intense burning. I’m not sure which of the “inactive” ingredients caused it but the result was far worse than the poison ivy that led me to use the Intensive Healing Formula.
The dermatologist later told me that these reactions can take up to 48 hours to fully express so, obviously, my test wasn’t long enough. I finished up on oral steroids to relieve the burning and swelling. The touch is that I reacted to one of the preservatives. I also looked over the ingredients with the pharmacist who told me that parabens, included twice, are known sensitizers. For folks whose skin is irregularly sensitive, I’d suggest trying a hydrocortisone formula with far less ingredients (for model the Cortizone 10 ointment only contains hydrocortisone and petrolatum).

I get eczema around my hairline, temples, in my ears and on my nose and face. It really makes me feel self concious with the flaking and flush. What this stuff does is it moistuizes and stops the itch. That way you leave it alone and stop scratching so it clears up. It cleared my face up surrounded by three days. I have tried the tar stuff in the tube and the shampoo with no consequences. I vastly recommend it. It saved me a trip to the doctor’s office.

I have had eczema for several years and it comes and goes with the seasons. Sometimes it’s really horrible and puffy and can be quite embarrassing. I have tried both prescribed and over-the-counter medications, but this stuff really works. It completely stopped the itch and cleared up my skin dramatically surrounded by a few days. I keep a tube of it in my purse and use it whenever I start to itch.
If you have eczema or any other uncomfortable skin, this works.
I would vastly recommend it.

This was my initially use of any oner-the-counter cortisone product and I was pleasantly bowled over. I had been bothered by a nagging rash on my chest for several weeks and even the doctor recommended would not get rid of it. The Cortisone 10 worked so well I would vastly recommend it to anyone who needs itch relief.
