Product Description
Cho-Pat Dual Action Knee Strap The Cho-Pat newly patented Dual Action Knee Strap provides an extra dimension of relief for painful and weakened knees. The knee strap applies difficulty upon the patellar tendon below the kneecap to stabilize and tighten up the kneecap mechanism, which improves patellar tracking and elevation and reduces patellar subluxation. It adds further strengthening to the kneecap mechanism by applying difficulty on the tendon above the kneecap as well. This tends to reduce the forces of the quadriceps on the patella tendon and wearing away of the undersurface of the kneecap due to a possible misalignment of the quadriceps (Q angle). The device s design and construction apply constant dynamic forces to the surrounding areas of the knee reducing the likelihood of overuse syndromes. At the same time, the strap allows for full mobility while providing maximum benefits. Cho-Pat Dual Action Knee Strap Sizing: Measure Circumference at Mid-Kneecap The Dual Action Knee Strap is unfilled in size X-Small thru X-Large. I bought this for my wife who just had her knee scoped and used it for her other knee. She felt her excellent knee was hurting by trying to stay off terrible knee. It worked as described in the commencement, but after a while she stopped wearing it – she said it doesn’t work, I reckon she doesn’t want to wear it. I am saving it for when my knees start hurting from jogging – sometime in future. Sorry, only review I could give.

I have Runner’s Knee (Chondromalacia or Patellofemoral Syndrome)from a combination of over-pronation and before a live audience Tennis on hard court surfaces. Previously, I have been using the open-kneecap patella stabilizer brace like the Tru-fit brace which really worked well. I had no pain during or after physical activity. The only con with this brace was the bulk and heavy sweating inside the brace due to the heavy insulation. As it became worn over a period a time, I wanted to replace it with something smaller and less restrictive.
Initially, I tried the single patella strap which didn’t work out. After reading a lot of recommendations for the Chopat dual-action knee strap on Amazon, especially runners who had PFS, I went for it. Over a period of 5 months, I have been tuning how I use it support my knee. I have tried a variety of positions of the strap on my knee and different loose or tight fittings, but I still get nagging knee pain every time after in succession, walking or tennis. The intensity of the pain also varies from the intensity of the activity. Sometimes it a grinding pain which lasts for a day or two and sometimes just minimal pain. But the location of this pain is on the medial side or somewhere around the knee cap which is a lot different from where the Runner’s Knee pain usually occurs – just under the kneecap. That being said, the strap does provide stability and support during physical activity with minimal pain.
Finally I went to a sports medicine doctor who informed me promptly that its for Jumper’s Knee and not Runner’s Knee. She said it was quite obvious from the design. Even though the design of the dual-action knee strap has some fundamentals to support a knee with PFS, it may not be sufficient enough for all active people. Its quite safe to say after 5 months, I was terribly frustrated with my choice of knee brace and puzzled how it worked for some with PFS. I only wished I had visited the doctor sooner. I reckon the brace did place forward some patella tracking as it says in the description during physical activity, but overall not enough tracking and support for the kneecap in my specific case. Hence the three stars.

15 months ago I had a miniscus tear repaired after a tennis injury. Abut 3-4 months ago I started getting pain in the inner part of my knw where the renovate occured. Physical therapy did not help and I tried various other braces with no real help. Tape seemed to help some but still had pain after a few hrs of play and subsequent days. Well after wearing this brace for just an hour I noticed the difference! The pain of something probably my knee cap rubbing against my tibia where I had my miniscus tear went away. Just to be sure I took the brace off and it came aptly back. I played 3 1/2 hrs of tennis last night and I was moving like I did before my minscus tear believe it of not. Further the pain and soreness today was minimal even with out wearing the brace in the AM. Every case is different, but for my condition tied to pounding at tennis this produce gets 5 stars on addressing my knee problem. This product in the long run probably will stop the cartidge wear I was experiencing as well which my doctor did not even account for when he repaired my miniscus. One last thing the brace stayed in place despite using it for tennis which is signficant as well.
I like the Cho-Pat and thank you for saving my knee.
