I plotting this was convenient and simple to use. Seemed to give a pretty accurate reading.

Bought this to track husband’s cholesterol when his total came back from the doctor’s lab at around 325. When we tested it at home it read around 321, so pretty close considering labs can be different as well as tests varying depending on time of day, fasting, stress level, hydration, etc. I watched the nurse at the kids clinic use the PA so I know they do use these devices as well. My husband compared his consequences to the labs and I just used it to measure mine on my own. It was extremely useful because I could test monthly very inexpensively until we were both in normal range again. It certainly is encouraging to be able to see immediate consequences rather than waiting for the next doctor visit. Kept my husband motivated and focused on eating aptly. Do not test only your total though. Mine was at 172 but my triglycerides were high and ldl low. I was bowled over but would not have known had I not done all three tests and the calculation. We have not been disappointed with this. Would buy again. There are control chemicals that you use to sort of calibrate the machine to get more accurate consequences. Your spot you poke should be cleaned with alcohol and you should not squeeze the blood from the fiddle with, etc. Do it aptly away when you get up in the morning making sure you are well hydrated the night before. Stress/minor illness/fever/exercise before testing/ time of day/eating….all can affect consequences. But you do the test, just make sure you are consistent each time. I also use the glucose strips on myself, spouse, and kids. (Not regularly as none of us are diabetic, but just once in awhile just out of curiousity.) There is a chip that comes with each set of test strips. You insert that chip in the analyzer and then place a drop of blood on the strip and insert it into the machine. It is pretty much that simple. I have found that I had strips that had expired by like a few weeks or a month, I simply reset the date of the analyzer and then am able to use persons strips with no tribulations. Not sure I would do that with ones that were way past expiration though as I am not traditional with the science behind it. Wish I could afford the PA, but it was not predestined to be. Kids gotta go to college, you know.
For the confirmation, what we did for the high cholesterol was to take a regular multi vitamin, garlic caps, and b12 sublinguals, and I reckon zinc, flax. (it has been about two years ago now) Then, we ate NO processed foods. All fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, berries…all raw or frozen. As smoothies, total, juiced, whatever, but completely fresh…no sodas, etc. And as much as we wanted to…not just 1000 cals. More like 2000 cals a day. Which is a LOT of food. In 30 days mine was waaaaaay down although I don’t remember the numbers, they were well below what was required. My husbands went from 352 to 174 in 90 days. (again, handy to do persons 30 days quick checks when you want to) And he did cheat a small bit. But all of his fruits and veggies were total and fresh. I reckon he also had some steel cut oats for breakfast once in awhile. I can only tell you what he ate when he was around me….not while he was at the office, heh. But he really was very excellent about it over all. I lost about 15 pounds, he lost around 38 pounds. Do not discount the poor quality foods we eat each day. Tons of it mindlessly. May not be a perfect, quick cure-all for everyone, but surely would benefit absolutely everyone to add more fresh, total fruits and veggies daily. Excellent luck and delight in your Cardiochek!

I bought this device to track my HDL.
Several times after using the device I have had lab tests at my doctors office. The consequences from this device have been consistently lower by 10-12 points for my HDL.
For model, my last HDL result from my doctors visit was 43 and this device tested my HDL at 32 in the same day. As some commenters have already stated, this machine is excellent for keeping tabs of trends but it is not accurate. It’s a bit pricey for its lack of accuracy and also for test strips that you have to buy.

The consequences from this product NEVER matched the consequences from my Doctor’s office. Also, not simple to use and incorrect strips included.

Pleased with this product. Yes you have to get blood from 3 of your fingers I use it for HDL, Cholesterol and Triglycerides)but it is a small price to pay compared to it’s benefits.
