Yes all the Braun ear themometers are fantastic when it comes to taking a child’s temperature. It is unrealistic to take an oral temperature when a toddler is feverish.
The problem lies whith these replaceable covers. They are cone shaped: 25mm deep, with a 27mm diameter. Unfortunately somewhat collapsible. Inhaled it would fit neatly into a trachea or main bronchus.
So the real the makings exists that a misplaced cover can be inhaled by a child. And thus blocking the airway. Chief to acute respiratory arrest.
No warning comes with these Braun lens filters.

I couldn’t find these lens filters in the stores, so I’m very glad Amazon had them. It’d be nice if they were a small cheaper, but I like the fact that they keep the thermometer tip clean.

I like these mostly because I like my Braun temperature reader so much. They are made of very thin fake, and are simple to place on and throw away when you’re done. I cheat and keep the same fake end on there until my kid is done being sick. Doctors who see manifold patients or school nurses would of course be changing all the time, but for the average family it’s much less frequent. That’s why this 40 pack is probably going to last me for years to come… which makes it an even surpass buy for me!
