I bought this item over a year ago when my husband was deep in his alcoholism. It certainly won’t ‘cure’ his disease, but it helped keep him accountable and regain my trust in him. Praise GOD he had over a year of sobriety, but has recently had a slip and is struggling again. I know that only prayer and our faith in our Lord will bring him out of this pit, but this is a fantastic tool to help me avoid the feeling of being naive and a way of ‘knowing’ the truth. My ‘husband’ doesn’t lie to me, but the disease of alcoholism takes over and ‘IT’ lies to me all the time. Our initially unit fell under the couch and got crunched, so I am looking forward to owning another one and praying for the day I WON’T have to use it!!!

I would not recommend this product to anyone. It is very slow to get ready and slow to recover after use, and regularly we get an error message repeatedly. The error messages says to try again. I wish I still had the box. I’d send it back.

I bought this product for my 24 year ancient son, who is an alcoholic with one DUI & illegal U turn already. After the initially dozen or so uses he chose that he must reduce his intake if he intends to drive home, and he will be relying on designated drivers and/or taxis much more frequently now that he sees the consequences of the test. Thank you, AlcoHAWK, he and I both believe your tester saves lives.

This tester has worked OK for me. I don’t use it very regularly, but at the commencement I did some tests, and the values were according to what it should be for the alcohol consumption I had and my weight. Subsequent reads are very close to each other.
