Including but not subject to providing a breathable bacterial barrier to outside contaminants as a primary or lesser dressing for Abrasions, skin tears, blisters, Skin implant donor sites, Superficial partial thickness burns, Stage I or II difficulty ulcers, Autolytic debridement, Protective eye coverings, Skin protection against moisture as well as friction and Clean, closed surgical incisions. Tegadern transparent dressings may also be used to cover and reliable I.V. devices such as Peripheral and midline venous catheters, Central venous catheters, Implanted infusion devices (ports), Dialysis catheters, Pulmonary artery catheters, Arterial catheters and Epidural catheters. Tegaderm Transparent Film Dressings come in variety of sizes and place forward a unique “picture frame” or “initially aid” delivery system which allows for a precise, reliable placement of the transparent film dressing every time. 3M Tegaderm Transparent Dressing is exceptional for protecting wounds until they heal. Rather then cutting it, I recommend buying the size you need. The edge of the dressing has the glue and when applied properly will stay on until you take it off. When used as a wound dressing, clean and dry the perimeter where the glue will be placed prior to application (an alcohol wipe will do the trick). Cut the gauze/dressing to fit just inside the window/center section. In our case we used what was recommended by the wound care specialist. Use caution when taking the backing off the Tegaderm, with gauze in place, apply Tegaderm flat on surface to be protected. Carefully press the perimeter of the Tegaderm to hold it in place. Use two fingers to pull the tab around the perimeter while using your fiddle with on the other hand to hold the Tegaderm in place. When done properly, the area will be sealed. Check w/your shape care professional but in most cases, the dressing can remain in place for a couple of days before being redressed. The beauty of the Tegaderm is that it was simple to remove and does not pull on the skin. Exceptional protection to promote quick healing!

I keep a couple of these in my wilderness initially aid kit and more at home in my medicine equipment. I use them primarily in smaller pieces, by cutting off a piece with a pair of sharp shears. Cut it to the size needed and stick it on. I find they only stay one for a day or so, before falling off. That seems to be just about perfect because it after a day under a tagaderm dressing, most wounds are sufficiently healed enough that they no longer need a bandage.
Because I use bits of one, a box of 50 lasts forever. Consider picking these up in smaller quantities.

A member of my family has to use a patch for pain control, but it doesn’t stick very well, especially in hot moist weather. The Tegaderm covers the patch and keeps it in place, no matter how much he sweats, and it doesn’t exasperate the skin.

The Tegaderm patches that I bought on Amazon were absolutely terrific and they saved me a lot of money. I had been pricing them at the drug store and some other places and they were going to cost me about $3.00 each. I paid about $1.00 each on Amazon I don’t know what I would have done without Amazon because I could not afford $3.00 each.

I need these transparent dressing as I must wear a pain patch due to a nuerological condition that subjects me to constant chronic pain. The dressings that I bought keep the patch in place and provide me with a safe feeling that I will not lose my perscriptive patch anytime at all even when swimming. Thank goodness for the fantastic deal I got through Amazon and its subs.
