The Hcg Urine test is a rapid pregnancy test which you can easily carry out yourself. It detects the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (Hcg), which appears in urine very early during pregnancy. This test detects Hcg levels at a sensitvity of 25mIU/ml. Some women can get a positive result as early as 3-5 days before their missed period. Any urine specimen is appropriate for pregnancy testing but the initially morning urine specimen is optimal because of its highest concentration of Hcg. This type of test will not perform well held in a stream of urine, consequently it is best to collect it in a clean, dry, fake or glass container. A disposable fake cup works excellent. The test strip and urine have to be at room temperature for testing. Remove the test strip from the sealed small bag. Immerse the strip into the urine with the arrow pointing down towards the urine. Take the strip out after 3-5 seconds and lay the strip flat on a clean, non-absorbent surface. Do not allow the urine level to exceed the MAX line, otherwise the test may not perform correctly. Read consequences in 5 minutes. Do not read consequences after more than 5 minutes. Negative (not pregnant): Only one pink line appears. This is the control line. This indicates no pregnancy has been detected. Should you get a negative result and your period still does not start, it is best to take another test surrounded by 3-5 days. Sometimes a woman can get a negative result simply because she tested too early. The baby must have implanted before Hcg can be produced and a positive result on a pregnancy test shows up. Positive (pregnant): There will be two distinct pink lines. The color intensity of the lines may vary since different stages of pregnancy have different levels of the Hcg hormone. If the second line (test line) is weak or faint, repeat the test in 48 hours. Hcg usually doubles every 48 hours, thereby it would result in a darker test line. If pregnant, please see your doctor.
